+ Slimming / Weight Loss Package

Ayurveda offers various holistic approaches to weight loss. Ayurvedic weight loss programs focus on balancing the body and mind while promoting overall well-being. It's important to note that individual results may vary, and it's always a good idea to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any weight loss program. At Baliga Ayurveda, we have seen a reduction of weight of around 3 kg after a panchakarma procedure.

Some general principles and practices commonly included in Ayurvedic weight loss programs:

  1.        Determine your dosha: Ayurveda categorises individuals into three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) based on their unique physical and mental characteristics. Understanding your dosha can help identify the natural tendencies of your body, your metabolism, etc. which, in turn, help us tailor a weight loss program to suit your specific body type.
  2.        Balanced diet: Ayurvedic emphasises a balanced diet that includes fresh, whole foods, incorporating all six tastes (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent, and astringent) to ensure nutritional variety. Portion control and mindful eating would certainly help in maintaining the results of a weight loss programme.
  3.        Herbal remedies: A range of herbs are prescribed to help with metabolism and address the causes of obesity such as metabolic, dietary, hormonal imbalances, genetics, etc.
  4.        Detoxification: Panchakarma (five cleansing/detoxification procedures) is one of the key protocols in treating chronic health conditions like obesity. Purgation, (one of the five detox procedures) is the most favoured panchakarma procedure in treating most cases of obesity. However, this may vary on a case-by-case basis.
  5.        Daily routines (Dinacharya): It is vital to follow a set daily routine to maintain overall balance, e.g., waking up early, practising self-care rituals like oil massage (abhyanga), and engaging in regular exercise or yoga to promote a healthy metabolism.
  6.        Stress management: Stress is a contributing factor in most diseases of modern-day life. Meditation and relaxation techniques like breathing exercises (pranayama) may be recommended to manage stress levels to provide overall support to maintain optimum weight.

We recommend you book an Initial Consultation Option 2 to assess your body type, dietary habits, and lifestyle and discuss your expected outcome before developing a personalised weight loss program based on your needs. Most programmes are at least a 15 to 20-day intense programme which involves powder massage, Shirodhara (oil on the forehead), and purgation or enema treatment along with a kichadi diet.

Done in a scientific way with proper emphasis on specific diet, lifestyle, detox therapy, massage using herbal paste and ayurvedic medicines. It is one of the natural and safest way of losing weight.

+ Stress Management Package

You may book a Shirodhara treatment along with a body massage therapy of your choice (Ayurvedic Abhyanga, Marma, relaxing, de-stress massage). Shirodhara is an Ayurvedic therapeutic procedure which, involves the gentle pouring of warm oil on the forehead and scalp. This is a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating therapy that helps to calm and balance the mind and nervous system. It is believed to stimulate the third eye or the "ajna" chakra, which is associated with intuition and consciousness. The continuous flow of oil or liquid on the forehead has a soothing effect on the mind, promoting mental clarity, reducing stress, and inducing a state of deep relaxation. In addition to this, you may book a consultation to assess your body type and get suggestions on herbal remedies, relaxation techniques, sleep therapy, diet and lifestyle management, and counselling, suitable for your body type and work pattern. The therapies are generally recommended for people suffering from anxiety, depression, headache, migraine, hypertension, irritable bowel syndrome, acid peptic disorder, etc. For sustained results, you follow the advice on ways to manage your work-life balance and/or deal with your life situations whilst receiving consistent Shirodhara therapy.

+ Detox Package

There are a couple of ways for toxins to accumulate in our bodies. Even when we follow the right diet and activity toxins are prone to build up at the cellular level. Some of the best-known toxin build-ups are lactic acid, free radicals, etc.

This is an intense procedure and duration varies from 10 to 20 days based on your availability and therapeutic needs. During your consultation, your Ayurvedic practitioner will assess your body type, and needs and discuss a suitable protocol with you.

According to Ayurveda, the food we eat gets converted into Sara (nutrient portion) and Kitta (toxic metabolite). The Sara portion then nourishes the Dathu (tissues). Kitta could be any excrement like stools, urine, wax from the ear, sweat, etc. which eliminates on its own, but some like free radicals accumulate and lead to DNA damage, apoptosis, etc leading to cancer, Alzheimer's, etc.

Additionally, improper diet and lifestyle practices can build up toxins (Ama) in the body and can lead to various abnormalities ranging from premature ageing to cancer. Today, modern science believes free radicals can lead to cancer and premature ageing. Panchakarma (detox Therapy) is one of the best therapies which help in eliminating free radicals and probably help in repairing the cell walls. This will eliminate the toxins and cleanse the body inside out. Panchakarma means five main types of detox therapies. The type of therapy is chosen based on one's body type or disease condition. More often irrespective of what disease you have the treatment is preceded by a panchakarma therapy as Ayurveda believes this will reset the body and prepare the body for better absorption and metabolism of medicines you give.

Detox is generally recommended for people suffering from asthma, allergies, sinusitis, spondylitis, radiculopathies, joint pains, paralysis, skin diseases, eczema, psoriasis, acne, infertility, and sexual dysfunction. Detox is used as a tool to reset the body to improve the absorption and metabolism of food and herbs. It is recommended to do once in a few years as part of the rejuvenation program. + Rejuvenation Package

Ayurveda believes rejuvenation therapy should begin as early as the infant stage of life. Rejuvenation therapy should always be preceded by panchakarma/detox procedure to get maximum benefit.  The herb we use for rejuvenation depends on what outcome we are looking for. The herbs can be very specific to an organ or system eg., skin, immune system, neuronal, cardiac, respiratory, musculoskeletal and aphrodisiac activity. Certain herbs are considered to be specifically nourishing certain organs or systems in the body. Eg., bhrami for the brain, guduchi or amla for immunity, arjuna for the heart, ashwagandha and shatavari for fertility, and so on.
